Experience all the comforts of home settled in the remote headwaters of the Sangre mountains, allowing you to explore the great outdoors & relax in style.

This booking includes 2 yurts for up to 6 people: The Iris sleeps 2 and Lone Tree sleeps 4. The Iris is a fully equipped tiny home designed around sustainable living. The Lone Tree gives the simplicity of mountain living with clean sheets.

Proceeds go to sustainable education programs in the spring/fall and further sustainable building implementation.

The Iris sleeps 2 people and is equipped with:



Hot shower, flush toilet, queen bed, kitchen & living space

The Lone Tree accommodations include:



Base rate is for 2 people, $50 per additional (per visit), 4 max guests



1 queen bed & 2 single beds



Water jug, a coffee maker and fridge



Glamping bathroom accommodations

Both Yurts:



Pet friendly with a $25 cleaning fee per pet



2 night minimum to support slow travel & save water



Full refunds through 30 days prior to arrival

Note that the Lone Tree yurt has no cooking stove, sink or utensils provided. The common area has a propane grill, propane fire table, wood fire sauna, and cold plunge.
Vehicle Access: Arriving on a 0.7-mile dirt easement from the highway, most vehicles can access the property except high-end low clearance sports cars. I drive a Volvo station wagon with no problem.

Guest access

Located 15 minutes south of Salida over Poncha Pass, the yurts have all the uniqueness of being surrounded in nature with the ability to still enjoy the town and numerous hot springs around.

Each yurt has parking directly opposite for guest. Please share the parking spaces with others who might be using an adjacent space.

Other things to note

Dogs are allowed with a $25 pet cleaning fee and we can put out a crate and dog bed.
Cell phone coverage: Thre is no AT&T service but that is no surprise in the mountains. Verizon has great service.
The yurts are for 2 people due to water & septic constraints. If you really need to bring a 3rd person or child, please reach out. Extra person fee is $50.
