1 review for Sweet Clover – Colorado Yurt Rental

  1. Liane & Alden

This place was perfect for a romantic getaway and/or a relaxing retreat into nature, especially for someone booking a trip with sustainability in mind. A two-night stay was more than enough to make us wish we could stay longer.
The yurts are as charming as they seem. Simplicity at its best! Solar powered, compost buckets provided, and even your grey water is used to water the trees (make sure to use the provided biodegradable soap!). There is a comfy bed and a hot shower, and they come equipped with everything you need to cook uncomplicated meals, but if you prefer to go out Salida offers great breweries & restaurants and is only a half hour away via a beautiful drive through the mountains.
The property is beautiful, and we enjoyed starting the days walking our dogs down to the pond and further to see the beginnings of their new earth ship build. In the afternoon if you open all the windows and the door of your yurt, the cool mountain breeze will blow through while you get out of the sun for a while, and we relished in the natural cold plunge in the heat of the day. Each day winds down with an almost unbelievable view of the stars and near silence to match.
If you’d like to get a little more hands-on, Chris (the owner) runs multiple workshops a year covering earthship builds, sustainability, eco-legislation and more. He has a trove of information, his enthusiasm is infectious, and the entire project is impressive and worth asking about!
Can you tell we really enjoyed our stay? We will definitely be back!
