Sleep beneath the stars with our vaulted domes
A sustainable future, where both cultural and natural growth can co-exist, is only possible with our awareness to indeed make it a reality
Your stay supports sustainable education workshops for young adults in the spring and fall, and subsidizes winter affordable housing.
Our mission is to not only show examples of how the individual and masses can make sustainable living a global realization, but to also challenge some ingrained concepts.
In promoting sustainable tourism, we ask for a minimum two night stay to promote slow travel, thereby saving water and allowing more time to our guests to explore everything in the area from Salida, to the sand dunes, the various hot springs and beyond.
Pick Your Adventure
Walk out your door & explore on foot. Head up the road to take in the peaceful beauty, see the Earthship build, or walk into the foothills north for as far as the eye can see.
We’re within a short drive to several mountain towns, attractions and destinations:
Meet the founder and host
Maintaining a passion for biology, I was pushed towards conservation and sustainability in an effort to save that which is at greatest risk of disappearance. That perspective took me from fundamental marine biology to renewable energy.
I always thought that living by example was the greatest challenge, and yet also the most effective. I began to ponder the idea of building a school/retreat. After months of searching, found a location in Southern Colorado just outside of Salida to suit the build. It all started with a tent, some tools, and my hands.
You are invited to visit, to sit by a pond and relax, to watch the deer in the early morning and to see the stars rise in the late evening. Come share stories of your life and if you’d like, hear mine, plant a tree if you’d like, learn about a solar field or grey water system and share the experiences and ideas that together take us from being one, to now being two. I look forward to seeing you at Poncha Pass.
COME RELAX WITH US
Come stay if you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable place to hang your hat while relaxing and adventuring around in nature. And after adventuring don’t forget to regenerate at a cellular level with our wood-burning sauna and cold plunge tub, immersed in good old fashioned nature therapy.
